Brooklyn A held a rally at 94 Franklin Avenue on the morning of Thursday April 14th, where tenants have been out of their homes for over 10 months due to the deliberate demolition work done by the landlord and the construction of an unauthorized and unpermitted building just behind theirs (which provoked the vacate orders by the city).  Turnout for the rally was strong and included participation by elected officials Council Member Antonio Reynoso, Assemblyman Joseph Lentol, and Council Member Steve Levin and community groups including, St. Nick’s Alliance, Cooper Square Committee, Southside United HDFC – Los Sures, WE ACT for Environmental Justice, Churches United For Fair Housing, CAAAV, Stand for Tenant Safety, Impacct Brooklyn and Urban Homesteading Assistance Board. The participation and unity by everyone was felt and will help in the fight to bring these tenants back to their rightful homes.
