Brooklyn A’s annual event celebrates and honors the collaboration among our legal advocates, community partners, and dedicated supporters.
This year’s event celebrates a true milestone–50 years of work with the community. For half a century, we have provided high-quality legal assistance to individuals, families, not-for-profit community-based organizations (CBOs), community development corporations (CDCs), coalitions, and more recently small businesses seeking to sustain and develop vibrant, healthy communities. Through accounts from key people and visuals, we will be telling the story of how Brooklyn A has built and supported the sustainable development of a city for the people.
This year, in celebration of 50 years of community-based advocacy, it is our privilege to honor two of Brooklyn A’s longest-tenured advocates–Martin S. Needelman, Esq. and Paul J. Acinapura, Esq.–for their decades of service to Brooklyn A, its partners, and our community. We will also present the Pro Bono Appreciation Award to Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP for their invaluable contributions to the organization through the Externship Program.
