Denis Berger Distinguished Alumni Award

Hon. Sheila Abdus-Salaam

Judge Sheila Abdus-Salaam

This year’s Annual Partnership Awards Benefit was full of excitement and special guests and it also featured a big surprise!  This year we presented our first ever Denis Berger Distinguished Alumni Award to a very special and dear alumnus of Brooklyn A, the Honorable Judge Sheila Abdus-Salaam.  Judge Abdus-Salaam started working with Brooklyn A as a Staff Attorney after her graduation from Columbia Law School.  During her time with Brooklyn A, she handled landlord-tenant and immigration cases, as well as other subject areas, serving clients in Bushwick, East New York and Brownsville.  Throughout her career, Judge Abdus-Salaam’s devotion to the struggle for justice represents the core values that Brooklyn A stands for. We are proud to present one of our own successful alumni with the Denis Berger Distinguished Alumni Award.
